Tarek El Moussa revealed, on average, just how much money he makes every month in real estate transactions.
“Since I started in 2010, I’ve done right around a thousand deals, [including] flips and wholesales,” El Moussa, 43, shared on the Monday, April 21, episode of the “Trading Secrets” podcast. “Probably a little bit more, actually.”
The Flip or Flop host continued, “Right now, we are probably averaging in Southern California about 15 transactions a month, and we’re wholesaling. [With] those 15 transactions, our average profit per deal I think comes in at about $45,000.”
Based on these earnings, El Moussa is averaging around $675,000 every month in real estate transactions. “So, it starts adding up,” he said.
“With the last few years, everything going on, I really got super hyper-focused,” the HGTV star explained. “We got lean — we’re better, we’re faster, we’re smarter than we’ve ever been. My sales team is only four people, and the person running the sales team is my lead salesperson. We’re all rowing in the same direction. They’re doubling income from last year.”

El Moussa has made several real estate investments, and not all of them are exclusive to his home state of California. In an interview with Realtor.com published Sunday, April 20, El Moussa revealed he was expecting a real estate boom in Arkansas.
“I’m always looking for markets that feel like they’re on the verge of exploding—and Northwest Arkansas checked every box,” he told the outlet. “The first time I visited, I felt it immediately: energy, growth, community, opportunity. It reminded me of what Orange County felt like 20 years ago — before it became the powerhouse it is today.”
El Moussa explained that his decision was influenced by Walmart’s decision to base its corporate campus in Bentonville, AR.
“When a company that powerful is building in a community, the ripple effects are huge: Schools get better, infrastructure improves, job security rises — and people stay,” he said. “To me, that meant stability and growth.”
Apart from his real estate ventures, Tarek stars in his own solo renovation series on HGTV, Flipping 101, which premiered its third season earlier this month.
“The season’s a lot of fun because you have inexperienced people putting their entire life savings on the line, trying to flip houses, not knowing what they’re doing,” Tarek exclusively told Us Weekly in an April 2 interview.
“When we actually filmed the show, the market was more unstable than it is today,” he continued. “So, it’s kind of a wild season. … There was a lot of high-risk flips we did.”
New episodes of Flipping 101 air Thursdays on HGTV at 9 p.m. ET.
